Live Cannabis Breeding with James Loud 2026

I had already started on a journey to breed an outdoor cannabis strain that could reliably grow in the unique Western Washington growing environment when I enrolled in Live Cannabis Breeding with James Loud. I deal with late, dry summers and early fall rains. The course gave me several new things to consider as I attempt this. The information about cloning and tissue culture was informative and sparked further interest.

Knowing that Oaksterdam exists and has a lot of information, knowledge, and wisdom that can be tapped anytime through weekly Hort Labs was one of the most valuable parts of my experience in the course. Learning more about the community also gave me comfort.

I would recommend this program not only for its specific knowledge about breeding cannabis, but I would also recommend it for access to the treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom of both the faculty and other students. The sense of community both inspires and comforts.
