General Information
How can I attend classes through Oaksterdam?
Our classes are currently offered online, either live or self-paced. You can enroll directly by purchasing your program of choice at https://oaksterdam.com/courses/
Live programs meet on a schedule, in real-time, and are recorded on Zoom. They also include networking and opportunities to interact with experts.
Our self-paced classes include the same texts and resources and can be completed on-demand on your own time.
Should I take the self-paced or live programs?
Live programs consist mainly of weekly classes, including orientation delivered through video conference in our Live Zoom Classroom. Classes are interactive and presented live by our professional faculty, so you can ask questions and network with classmates. Students may also have opportunities to participate in Horticulture Labs, field trips, and extracurricular events. Live classes are ideal for students who prefer an interactive learning environment and want to maximize opportunities to network.
Self-paced programs give you access to all the content, videos, images, resources, and quizzes, allowing you to go through the material at your own pace to earn your certificate. There are no scheduled classes or group work, and you can always reach out to our Student Services Department (support@oaksterdamuniversity.com) with any questions, and we will make sure to get you an answer from our faculty. The online program is ideal for motivated students who like to set their own learning pace, students who want to complete their program quickly, and those who are unable to attend scheduled classes.
When do the self-paced classes expire?
Expiration dates are displayed on each self-paced course.
If you are approaching the expiration date and realize you will need more time to complete your program, you can purchase an extension by emailing support@oaksterdamuniversity.com.
Do you allow international students?
Yes
Is the Oaksterdam University Certificate recognized outside of California?
Yes, our certificates are industry-based, not location-based. Oaksterdam certificates are recognized globally.
What age can I work in cannabis?
Oaksterdam requires students to be 18 years or older to participate in our classes and programs. However, to work in the cannabis industry in the United States, individuals must be over 21. In Canada, workers must be at least 18 or 19, depending on the province, except in Quebec, where the minimum age is 21. If you live in a country outside Canada or the United States that regulates commercial cannabis, refer to your country’s laws and policies.
Students
How do I access the Live Zoom Classroom?
Everything you need to start is in one central source: your student portal: learn.oaksterdam.com. Once you launch the program in your dashboard, you will have access to a section that includes the class schedule, classroom access, and additional resources.
If you encounter the message “The meeting host will let you in soon, ” you are currently in our virtual waiting room and you will be admitted when class begins.
How do I add my live classes to my personal Google Calendar?
- Open the Gmail invitation: Go to your Gmail inbox and open the email containing the calendar invite to your class.
- Locate the event details: In the email, you will see a section with the event details, which includes the Zoom link to the class. There will also be a “Yes,” “No,” or “Maybe” RSVP option along with a calendar icon.
- Click on the RSVP option: Click your response depending on whether you can attend the event. This will add the event to your Google Calendar.
- Event added to calendar: Once you click your response, the event will automatically be added to your Google Calendar. You will be redirected to Google Calendar to confirm, where you can edit the event.
- Access the event in Google Calendar: Open Google Calendar by clicking the calendar icon or go directly to Google Calendar. The event will be listed on the corresponding date and time. The event invite will include the Zoom login information for your class.
- Edit or add details (optional): If you need to make changes to the event (i.e. adding a note or setting up a reminder), you can click on the event in your calendar and click Edit. Please note that these changes will only be reflected in your calendar for your class invites.

What happens if I miss a live class?
Although we strongly recommend you attend all your live classes to receive the full learning experience, don’t worry if you miss a live session. Recordings of class sessions will be posted in the online course within one business day. You can find these recordings within the respective course.
How do I download my certificate?
From your dashboard, scroll down to the “Completed” section to view the programs you have completed with us, and click “Download Certificate” under the program you have completed.
You can also download your certificate by launching the program and selecting “Download Certificate” under Course Requirements.
How do I request a printed certificate?
If you’d like to request a frame-ready printed copy of your certificate, fill out this Certificate Request Form.
If you have passed more than one certificate program with us and are eligible for more than one certification, please submit a request for each course taken.
Make sure that everything is spelled correctly and that you provide a current mailing address. Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing and shipping.
Please note that the tuition for our certificate programs includes your certificate’s first print. The tuition for elective courses does not include a printed certificate. Additional copies printed and mailed are $50 for processing and shipping. Certificates requested more than six months after your program expires will cost $50 for processing and shipping. If you do not qualify for a free certificate, we will respond to your request with a link if you choose this option.
Can I retain a copy of the course materials after I get my certificate?

Alumni
Is there an alumni discount?
To support our alumni who wish to continue their studies, Oaksterdam University offers a 50% discount on any program you’ve already taken and want to retake after your program has expired. You do not need to have completed or passed the program to qualify for this discount, but it is only available for programs you were already enrolled in.
To receive this discount, email support@oaksterdamuniversity.com with your name, the program you wish to take, and the date when you last took the program. We will review our records and issue you a coupon code for the discount. Coupon codes are not transferable.
Affiliate Program
What is the Oaksterdam Affiliate Program?
The Oaksterdam Affiliate Program allows alumni and industry professionals to earn commissions by referring students to Oaksterdam courses. When someone enrolls using your unique referral link, you receive 10% commission on their purchase.
How do I sign up?
Signing up is easy! Just visit Oaksterdam Affiliate Sign-up and complete the registration. Once approved, you’ll get access to your referral link and promotional materials.
How do I get my unique referral link?
After logging into your Affiliate Dashboard, go to the “Links” section. This is where you’ll find your unique referral link, which you can use in social media posts, emails, or websites to drive enrollments.
How much commission do I earn?
You earn 10% commission for every successful course enrollment that comes through your referral link. There’s no cap—earn as much as you want!
When and how do I get paid?
Commissions are processed monthly via ACH. Payments are based on successful enrollments tracked through Tapfiliate.
Where do I find promotional materials?
All banners, graphics, and email templates are available in the “Program” tab inside your Affiliate Dashboard. You can download and use them for marketing.
What are the best ways to promote Oaksterdam courses?
