Lorris Deininger initially enrolled in Oaksterdam’s All Access Pass and completed the Horticulture Mastery and Horticulture Manager certifications. upgrades before also separately enrolling in Cannabis Breeding with James Loud.

I was trying to get a job in the cannabis industry, and I initially targeted specific countries before expanding my search globally. In total, I sent (definitely) over 300 emails and applied across various platforms like LinkedIn, CannabisJobs, Pura, and even Instagram. I also reached out to a few prominent industry figures, though some of their responses were disappointing. Still, I kept moving forward.

While most replies were negative, either due to companies not hiring at the moment or a strict requirement for commercial cannabis experience (despite my strong agriculture and aquaculture background), I kept pushing.

I even had to turn down a one-month seasonal offer in Australia because the visa and flight costs didn’t make sense, especially since getting a new Australian visa is much harder for me now, after spending five years there starting in 2019.

Fortunately, my efforts paid. I landed a management role thanks to my Oaksterdam certification! It’s an exciting challenge, and I’m currently setting up the facilities and implementing strict hygiene protocols! Thanks Oaksterdam!
