The welcoming atmosphere made it easier for me to learn, the friendly classmates and teachers made it an unforgettable experience also being hands on with the plants really made me understand the work better.
Well, Oaksterdam really helped me understand how the cannabis industry is shaping. The way they are actually trying to get real change did inspire me to take the cannabis industry and my love for fashion a lot more seriously. The program did touch my heart when it came to finding more people who I could at least relate to. I am scared to go on, but I do not fear moving forward. I just want some friends to enjoy the journey with. Thank you Oaksterdam for giving me that first hand experience without jeopardizing me or another cannabis business who has worked very hard to get where they are now. I just pray for an opportunity really to advocate the professionalism of people who consume cannabis as well as the artists who consume. Isaiah Dorsey

Sandy has taught cooking classes at OU dating back to our founding, including a Dizzy Bird Cooking Class each holiday season.

"I started with OU over the summer of 2021 with the Raising Funds for Cannabis Business with Arcview. It is a really important thing I don't think a lot of people necessarily think of when starting a cannabis business. Where and how do you get what's usually regarded...

"OU was a great experience. I attended both the Business and Horticulture semesters. I was not sure really what to expect with it being virtual and working in a group project. I immediately fell in love. It was a lot of information to take in, but faculty they have...

Plant Talk: The Panic Chop
What is a “panic chop”? In the world of cannabis cultivation, the panic chop occurs when growers harvest their crop hastily, earlier than expected, and with the potential loss of profit. Growers panic chop to save their plants from a potentially worse outcome caused by pests, pathogens, weather events, or other factors. During a recent Oaksterdam University Plant Talk on Clubhouse, OU Executive Director Dale Sky Jones asked participants what had caused them to panic chop. Find out what they said in our latest blog.

Home Grows in High Times
Oaksterdam University’s Luke Zimmerman, Esq., is featured in the recent High Times article “Do Cannabis Companies Face Consequences for Opposing Home Grows.” The article discusses how some large companies see home growers as a threat to business, and how home growers are pushing back to maintain their right to cultivate cannabis. Luke weighs in.
