I liked the entire course. The science part was really interesting. I liked learning about all the different forms of cannabis products.
Although I have yet to find gainful employment in the cannabis space. OU has advanced me in networking and building relationships and some resources. There were challenges as to be expected but I got a chance to work through them with my team without compromising values that are important to the community and I alike. Most of all to have more compassion for those who don’t agree with me. Nehemiah Cole

I really enjoyed my time during my 2021 class. I learned a lot about the different laws and the politics around the industry. I learned a lot of things that will definitely help us in the near future. Joseph Modeliste
Oaksterdam really did open up my career path in a number of ways. I was 18 when I went and apparently you had to be 21 to intern so instead I just volunteered every day. I volunteered so much that I remember Aseem told me I couldn’t anymore because it was “unfair to others”. Those were the best times though because that’s when Big Mike passed down the tricks of the trade to me before his passing. I wish he could see where I am today, but I know he’s smiling down on all of us. Michael Parker gave me the tools I needed to successfully operate entire farm operations, and Debby Goldsberry was the one who connected me to my first real job in Cannabis as the chief Horticulturist and Senior Consultant in extraction for Alta California Botanicals. Without Oaksterdam I wouldn’t have had the beginnings of my career, and I am forever appreciative of that. Joshua Alb

OU Signs Open Letter to UN
Oaksterdam University is among 181 non-profit organizations from 56 countries around the world to sign an open letter to the United Nations calling for transparency and accountability in global “Cannabis Guidelines” efforts. Copies of the letter were sent on Dec. 2, 2021, the first anniversary of the UN vote that downgraded international cannabis prohibition. Since then, concerns have arisen that the INCB is working in complete opacity to come up with proposed global “Cannabis Guidelines” that actually contradict the intentions of that historic vote.
