“OU was a great experience. I attended both the Business and Horticulture semesters. I was not sure really what to expect with it being virtual and working in a group project. I immediately fell in love. It was a lot of information to take in, but faculty they have amazing faculty and staff to help!
I have honestly wanted to attend OU since I was in high school but never could make the time/travel work. When the classes went virtual, my eyes lit up. I have had a passion for cannabis since I was young and dreamed of having my own business. I am in New York and while regulations are being laid out for the Adult use program, it was not always easy trying to find help to accomplish that dream. Oaksterdam gave me the tools I needed. Regardless of your cannabis knowledge, I advise taking these semesters. Trying to start a cannabis business or become an experienced grower, is more complicated than anything else because of the nature of the plant. I admit I was/am still nervous about taking the plunge into the industry. OU gave me the confidence, resources, and education to start my businesses. I have started Plant It Express which is an ancillary business that supplies all your growing needs, from tents and lights to pots and soil. We also offer education. We teach people, from start to finish on how to be a successful grower! We are also hopeful to achieve a licensed microbusiness. Oaksterdam gives you an amazing opportunity to to learn and immerse yourself into this(pun intended) “growing” cannabis industry. I encourage everyone who is interested in cannabis to give Oaksterdam a shot. You won’t regret it!
