Top 10 Compliance Tips
Here are two examples from the Top 10 Do’s and Don’ts Conner covered during the webinar.
1. DO: Maintain Detailed & Accurate Records
Mississippi requires meticulous record-keeping. Use METRC to log cultivation, processing, and sales at every stage. Keep financial, employment, transaction, pesticide, theft, and loss records for at least five years.
Real-world case: A licensee was fined for “backdating” harvests in METRC. They corrected the issue by updating their SOPs and retraining staff on real-time entries.
2. DON’T: Ignore Employee Training Requirements
Untrained staff often cause accidental violations. Mississippi mandates proper training and documented refreshers.
Real-world case: A site visit revealed staff not wearing their credentials onsite. The company received a citation but resolved it by retraining staff and enforcing work permit protocols.
